Northern Sabi Sand Reserve

A comfortable main area invites an Arathusa guest to enjoy the view while reflecting on their day’s experience in the African bush. This family owned lodge accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, which ensures personal service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The lodge is situated on the dry Manyeleti riverbed and overlooks a permanent waterhole. The pool deck guarantees an excellent view of a variety of animals, coming from the plains to drink.

The lodge has 10 comfortable chalets, set amongst green lawns and shady trees. In between drives, guests can enjoy the pool and bird watch, or relax on their private decks and watch the warthogs and the nyala families on the lawn.

Notten’s Bush Camp’s accommodation consists of beautifully appointed, elegantly styled suites with open plan bedroom and en-suite bathroom. All suites have both indoor and outdoor shower facilities. Each suite at Notten’s Bush Camp leads onto a private wooden deck with a beautiful view of the bush. Paraffin lamps and candles replace electric lighting for ambiance and all the rooms are cooled with an overhead ceiling fan.

Overlooking the Sand River, Kirkman’s Camp has spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness as far as the eye can see. Kirkman’s Camp is a historic and famous camp which was originally built in the early 1920’s. The colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and one steps back in time upon entering the old homestead, which now serves as the recreational hub of the camp. The large lounge, decorated in 1920 style, leads through double French doors onto rolling lawns that provide a velvety contrast to the wild and tumbling bush surrounding the camp.

MALA MALA MAIN CAMP
Every aspect of the Main Camp is designed to appreciate and enjoy the view of the surrounding wilds. Pathways wind their way along the perimeter of the camp to reveal individual ochre colored units tucked into the greenery which flanks the Sand River. Massive trees and rolling green lawns are filled with birdsong, with the occasional antelope or elephant which seeks the succulence of greenery.

The Savanna Suite is an opulent home away from home under thatch. Two large, beautifully furnished bedrooms lie on either side of an inter-connecting lounge. Each has an outsized bathroom with free-standing bath, double vanities, double shower and toilet. The bathrooms open onto paved outdoor showers.
